Wheeler Historic Farm!

Wheeler Historic Farm
What is it? Wheeler Historic Farm is an educational farm and wedding venue!
What makes it historical? In 1887, Henry Joseph Wheeler and his wife, Sariah, bought a 75-acre farm that had changed hands several times since 1848. Here, they started a commercial ice business and the Rose Bud Dairy with 40-60 cows, which kept them afloat during the Great Depression! They built a Victorian home and even had a garage where Henry, Sr. kept his fancy Pierce-Arrow motor car!

Today, this is still a working farm with cows, horses, sheep, ducks, chickens, and rabbits! There’s a blacksmith shop, a milking parlor, and wagon rides around the former ice pond in the back! It’s a really neat place to learn about early farm life during the settlement of the Salt Lake Valley!

How can I Help the Helpers? HERE’S HOW:

  • Volunteer at Wheeler Historic Farm!
  • Donate to the Wheeler Farm Friends!
  • Be a responsible visitor! Please respect the signs and pathways, and treat all structures and artifacts with respect. They’ve endured a lot to survive into the present. They’ll need our help to make it into the future!
