What is it? |
O Cebreiro is the first town that a Pilgrim encounters upon entering Galicia on the Camino! |
What makes it beautiful? |
I could very easily call O Cebreiro the Disneyland of the Camino, because of the many tour buses, gift shops, and high-priced food! But, it is still a charming mountain town with echoes of a time when northern Spain was peopled by the Celts, long before they moved to the UK and Ireland! When I was here, the snow had just melted for the season, and the mountainside had exploded with color! Here, the views are spectacular, the mood is relaxed, and the pallozas, straw-roofed roundhouses, hearken back to simpler times when people shared their homes with cows and sheep! |
HOW CAN I HELP KEEP IT BEAUTIFUL? |
IT’S EASY!
- You can be a responsible visitor! That means respecting the signs and pathways and treating all structures and artifacts with respect! After all, they’ve endured a lot already to make it into the present! They’ll need our help to make it to the future!
