Lugo became a province of Spain on November 20, 1833 and is part of the autonomous community of Galicia! Its name is derived from the Celtic god, Lugh! Its capital and largest city is Lugo! This province is famous for the town of O Cebreiro, the monastery of San Xulián de Samos, and the sunken city of Portomarín! It’s also where I met Señor Castorieti for the very first time!
