Old Arrow Tree!

Old Arrow Tree
Landmark #164 Humboldt County Visited: May 10, 2012 Plaque?  NO. 🙁
What is it? A giant redwood tree with a wooden marker nailed to it!
What makes it historical? THE GUIDE SAYS: This site is said to have been used by Indians to commemorate an important peace treaty. In memory of the treaty, each tribe, upon passing, was supposed to have shot an arrow into the bark.

OTHER TIDBITS: Specifically, those Native American tribes were the Hoopa and Korbel! The Korbel won the war, and shooting the tree was meant to show that each visiting party came in peace!
