D.O. Mills Bank Building
Landmark #609 Sacramento County Visited: March 22, 2015 Plaque?  NO. 🙁
What is it? The D.O. Mills Bank Building still stands!
What makes it historical? THE GUIDE SAYS: Erected in 1852, this building housed one of the oldest and largest banks of early-day California.

OTHER TIDBITS: Darius Ogden Mills came to California to mine for gold, but rather than strike it rich in that endeavor, he made his fortune “mining for miners!” In 1849, he founded the first banking house on the Pacific Coast and went on to build this bank in Sacramento and become the president of the Bank of California in 1864! He lent his name to the town of Millbrae in San Mateo County!
