Site of Sam Brannan House
Landmark #604 Sacramento County Visited: March 22, 2015 Plaque?  YES! 🙂
What is it? The Sam Brannan House still stands!
What makes it historical? THE GUIDE SAYS: This building, erected by Henry E. Robinson in 1853 on land owned by Sam Brannan, was used as the first meeting place of the Pioneer Association and other organizations of early days.

OTHER TIDBITS: The Pioneer Association assembled for the first time in the year after the building was constructed! It was composed of history-minded folks who realized they were living in important times, and so they played a big role in preserving Sutter’s Fort and giving members dignified burials in the Sacramento City Cemetery!
