What is it? A plaque in historic Folsom!
What makes it historical? THE GUIDE SAYS: Completion of the 22-mile Sacramento Valley Railroad line from Sacramento to Folsom was celebrated here February 22, 1856 by enthusiastic residents of both cities. The new line, commenced February 12,1855, was built by noted pioneer engineer, Theodore Dehone Judah.

OTHER TIDBITS: This was California’s second oldest railroad, too! The only one older was the Arcata and Mad River Railroad!
