Mission San Juan!

Mission San Juan
What is it? Not to be confused with this Mission San Juan Capistrano, San Antonio’s Mission San Juan is part of San Antonio Missions National Historical Park!
What makes it historical? Moved to this location in 1931, the church of Mission San Juan first opened its doors in 1756! This mission was an important source of produce for the mission system, with its fertile fields not only churning out the Three Sisters (corn, beans, and squash) but also some sweets like sweet potatoes and sugar cane! Irrigated by a 15-mile aqueduct, this farm traded from Louisiana all the way down into Coahuila, Mexico! This farm is still operational, run by the National Park Service, and partners with the San Antonio Food Bank!
