Abraham Lincoln Boyhood Home at Knob Creek!

Abraham Lincoln Boyhood Home at Knob Creek
What is it? The Knob Creek Farm was where Abraham Lincoln spent four years of his childhood!
What makes it historical? After losing land rights to Sinking Spring Farm, Thomas and Nancy Lincoln moved their young family about ten miles to the northeast, near Knob Creek! Here, they grew corn and pumpkins on 30 acres of the farm’s total 228, and here, the future president would create his first memories! It was at Knob Creek that he went to his few months of ABC School, where he saw his first African-American slaves being taken south for sale, and where he nearly drowned in the creek but was saved by his friend, Austin Gollaher! A reconstruction of the Gollaher cabin is now on display at the farm! The Lincolns stayed here from 1811 until 1816 before moving over a hundred miles west into Indiana for the next stage of young Abe’s growth!
