Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park!

Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park

What Is Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park?

Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park protects the deep, dark canyon and surrounding wilderness of the Gunnison River!

What Makes It Beautiful?

When I visited, the Black Canyon was still closed due to the Coronavirus pandemic, so I had all the space, solitude, and nature to myself! Even if you don’t have that spiritual experience, you’ll be deeply moved by the deep, black canyon carved by the sapphire-blue Gunnison River below! The cliffs are criss-crossed with red rock and mixed with neat formations caused by millennia of erosion! If you’re lucky, you might spot a peregrine falcon, which nest here each year!
