What Is Shenandoah National Park?
Shenandoah National Park protects 200,000 acres of Blue Ridge Mountain wilderness!
What Makes It Beautiful?
Just over an hour away from big cities like Washington DC and Richmond, this is a lush mountain getaway featuring fine hikes up granite peaks and easy descents into river valleys! Tackle the strenuous but rewarding ascent of Old Rag Mountain or enjoy the vistas from towering Hawksbill! Don’t feel like hiking? Cruise the park’s historic 105-mile long Skyline Drive and take in some amazing views on all sides! Maybe you’ll spot some wildlife like black bears, white-tailed deer, or the rare Shenandoah salamander! Whether you’re up for camping, hiking, or a nice hot cocoa at the Big Meadows Lodge, a trip to Shenandoah National Park is a fine way to escape the bustle of daily life for some fresher air and the sounds of nature!
