Two Spot Logging Train!

Two Spot Logging Train

What is the Two Spot Logging Train?

This is a preserved locomotive from the height of Flagstaff’s lumber industry!

What Makes Them Historical?

This steam locomotive was constructed by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in Philadelphia between 1910 and 1911, and sent to Flagstaff, Arizona to work for the Arizona Lumber & Timber Company! Its original roster number was “25,” but the water bags it carried over the course of its career wore away the 5, leaving a 2 and a spot! While it’s still known as Two Spot today, it was officially Engine #35938 as it passed into the hands of the Saginaw & Manistee Lumber Company, Southwest Lumber Mills, then Southwest Forest Industries before retiring on August 17, 1966! Today, this steam engine is one of only two logging locomotives that survived the scrap heap of World War II and can still be enjoyed today!
