What Is the Skagitsquatch Museum?
This is one part showcase of all kinds of Sasquatch paraphernalia and one part communication center for reporting and tracking Bigfoot sightings!
What Makes It Wonderful?
There’s something about Bigfoot and folks named Mike, because Mike Vail was so inspired by Mike Rugg’s Bigfoot Discovery Museum in Santa Cruz that he went back to Burlington and started his own shrine to Bigfoot as a retirement project! Since 2010, he’s amassed over 700 artistic renderings of the hairy fellow, including a Yeti Yogurt mascot from Tacoma, a life-sized mold of Patty by sculptor, Rocky Markham, and his own chainsaw-carved creations with their signature hands in the air! Claiming to have had a sighting of his own back in 1992, Mr. Vail maintains a journal of sightings brought in by museum visitors, which now numbers over three hundred! His museum operates under the three principles of Free, Family, and Fun, and if you stop on by, you’re sure to find a heap of all three!
