What makes it historical? | THE GUIDE SAYS: Sycamore Valley ranch, formerly called Sycamore Grove, was first camp of the Mormon pioneers. Captain Jefferson Hunt, Amasa Lyman, Charles C. Rich, David Seely, and Andrew Lytle stopped here in June 1851.
OTHER TIDBITS: This is where 437 Mormon pioneers camped while they negotiated terms with the Lugo brothers to purchase Rancho San Bernardino! They succeeded, which is why there is such a strong Mormon influence in the city of San Bernardino! |
