What Is Devils Tower National Monument?
America’s very first, Devils Tower National Monument preserves a huge columnar volcanic monolith, also known as Bear Lodge, or Bear Tipi!
What Makes It Beautiful?
Devils Tower is such a striking sight as it suddenly rises up from the surrounding hills! It really conveys a feeling of mystery when you look at it, and each side of it, as you walk the Tower Trail, offers different angles and foliage frames! Since this is a sacred site for many local tribes, you’ll find colorful medicine bundles all around the base (but please don’t disturb them)! Take some time to appreciate his magnificent formation, and be sure to say hello to the resident black-tailed prairie dogs. This is one of the few refuges where you can still find them!
