What Is the Burleigh County Courthouse?
This is still the main county courthouse for Burleigh County, North Dakota!
What Makes It Historical?
This Art Deco courthouse was designed by Ira Rush and built by Redlinger & Hanen in 1931! More packed full of original artwork than any other Art Deco courthouse, Burleigh County’s is also unique for its aluminum spandrel panels under its windows! What’s a spandrel panel, you ask? Well, unlike regular spandrels that help an arch fit into a square frame, spandrel panels on multi-level buildings decorate the space between the top of one story’s window and the sill of the next!
