Coconino County, Arizona was established on February 18, 1891 and named for the Coconino people, which is what the Hopi called the Havasupai and the Yavapai! Its county seat is Flagstaff, and its fair is also held in Flagstaff! You might recognize the Flagstaff area national monuments (Walnut Canyon, Sunset Crater, & Wupatki), Horseshoe Bend, Antelope Canyon, Glen Canyon Dam, the Wave at Vermillion Cliffs, the Winslow Meteor Crater, Sedona Vortexes, and Grand Canyon National Park, which are located in this county!
