Hinds County, Mississippi was established in 1821 and named for soldier and congressman, Thomas Hinds! It has two seats: Raymond and Jackson, but the fair is in Jackson! You might recognize the Mississippi State Capitol, Medgar Evers Home Museum, Eudora Welty Home, LeFleur’s Bluff State Park, Mississippi Civil Rights Museum, and the International Museum of Muslim Cultures, which are located in this county!
