Israel’s Southern District was established in 1967 and named because it’s the southern part of the country! Its district capital is Be’er Sheva! You might recognize Masada National Park, Ein Gedi Nature Reserve, Mount Sodom, the western shore of the Dead Sea, and the Negev Desert, which are located in this district!
