Italy’s Toscana (Tuscany) Region was incorporated on December 22, 1947 and named for the Etruscan (Toscana) people who lived there! Its capital and largest city is Firenze (Florence)! After a glass of fine Chianti, you might recognize the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Statue of David, and the homes of the Medici family, Leonardo Da Vinci, Dante, Galileo, and even Pinocchio (Carlo Collodi), which are located in this region!
