Dover Green!

Dover Green
What is it? The Green is the original heart of Dover, as surveyed in 1717!
What makes it historical? William Penn founded Dover in 1683 and made sure it came equipped, like New Castle, with three public squares, or greens! The Dover Green played setting for markets, troop reviews, and various public gatherings. It also tied together such spots of historic importance as the old State House and Golden Fleece Tavern!
How can I Help the Helpers? HERE’S HOW:

  • Volunteer with First State National Historical Park!
  • Donate to First State Heritage Park!
  • Be a responsible visitor! Please respect the signs and pathways, and treat all structures and artifacts with respect. They’ve endured a lot to survive into the present. They’ll need our help to make it into the future!
