A Christmas Story House & Museum!

A Christmas Story House
What is it? The original house from the movie A Christmas Story!
What makes it historical? This is the original home where most of the holiday classic A Christmas Story was shot! Though the historical events took place in Indiana, by the time Jean Shepherd’s book was published, that neighborhood looked completely different. It was by pure chance that he and director, Bob Clark, stumbled upon this nearly identical home in a nearly identical neighborhood one state over!

The rooms of the house have been restored to how they looked during the movie, and across the street, there is a museum with props, including Randy’s coat and the original Red Ryder Carbine Action 200-Shot Lightning Loader Range Model Air Rifle that shot Ralphie’s eye out! The tour guides are also a wealth of knowledge on the movie’s history and the challenges it faced from Cleveland’s snowless winters to the critics’ awful reviews! It’s a museum as quirky as the movie that was filmed there!
