What Makes It Beautiful?

Oh boy, where even to begin?! I started in the Hoh Rainforest, and you wouldn’t believe the neat plants there, from towering cedars and maples all covered in moss to ferns and shamrocks! The water in the streams here was so incredibly clear and clean that I’ve never seen anything like it before in my whole life!

Then there’s the coastline, celebrated by UNESCO as the longest, undeveloped stretch of coastline in the United States! It’s famous for its jagged seastacks and foggy beaches, like Rialto Beach, with its tree graveyard. Then this park stretches way up into the heights with the Olympic Mountains, both a towering climbing destination and a spectacular place to take in views across two countries! Olympic National Park is a must-see when visiting Washington!

When Should I Visit the Park?

The visitor centers have the most open hours during the summer time, but the park is open all day, every day! That said, fall through spring are subject to road closures for weather, but if you’re willing to brave it, Olympic National Park is going to reward you no matter when you approach it!
