Wyoming became the 44th state of the Union on July 10, 1890! It’s named after the Munsee Delaware word for “at the big river flat,” but you can also call it The Equality State! Its capital and largest city is Cheyenne! Wyoming’s state motto is “Equal Rights!” This state is famous for wide open spaces and ranching, for Yellowstone National Park, the Grand Tetons, Devil’s Tower, and for Forts Laramie and Bridger!
