Keep your distance, everyone!

With the orders to stay at home and practice social distancing, it’s still important to keep in touch with the ones you care about. Lots of folks have been turning to remote conversations, and there was no time like the present to check in with the other Beavers to see how they were faring.

Shockingly, everyone else was faring pretty well, better, in fact, than LA! The whole state of Utah has 136 cases of coronavirus, and there are no stay at home orders at all! South Korea already appears to be flattening out, thanks to rigorous quarantining and tracking procedures. So far, there are only 675 cases in Seoul, Gyeonggi Province, and Incheon combined! By comparison, LA County alone has 351 cases and is on full lockdown! Woodchuck invited me to stay with him in Beaver for a while, but I’ll have to think about it. I never thought I’d say it, but traveling right now seems kind of risky!

What better way is there to think on something from home than to tear a whole bunch of weeds out of the garden? It’s been rainy and cold lately, so I haven’t done much garden prepping for the season. If I’m going to be stuck at home for a long period, I might as well get some housework done!

There! All planted! Now to sit back and wait. And wait. Darn it, these things don’t seem to grow very fast. Now should I bake or find something to read? Maybe I’ll go for a walk.

My gosh, it’s empty out! The shopping area around the corner has hauled in all of its dining tables, which really emphasizes the emptiness of this normally bustling space!

Many stores now are limiting access to a few folks at a time! That means, whenever folks do start coming back out in public, there are going to be long lines to wait in for basic activities like shopping! After seeing so many grocery stores ransacked, I’ll bet it would be underwhelming to wait in line only to find that what you wanted had already been cleared from the shelves!

I guess that settles it, folks! I’m going to go nuts sitting inside by myself for the foreseeable future, somewhere between Cabin Fever and Beaver Fever! Before they start setting up roadblocks, I’m going to take Woodchuck up on his offer to visit him in Beaver. We’ve got a few days of rain ahead, so maybe when I come back, the garden will be growing!

Shifting into COVI-Drive!
