San Bernardino County, California was established in 1874 and named for San Bernardino of Siena, the patron saint of advertising, communications, compulsive gambling, and respiratory problems! Padre Francisco Dumetz named a church here on the saint’s feast day, May 20th, 1810! Its county seat is San Bernardino, and its fair is held in Victorville! You might recognize Joshua Tree National Park, Mojave National Preserve, Calico Ghost Town, and California’s first naval orange tree, which are located in this county!
